I am Davide, a university student in physics; aside from that, I am a proud Italian, traditional Catholic, counterrevolutionary and absolute feudal monarchist, or, in short, a Sanfedista.
Sanfedismo, is derived from Armata Cristiana e Reale della Santa Fede in Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo, (in English "The Christian and Royal Army of the Holy Faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ"), by joining the words Santa and Fede. Under the patronage and protection of Saint Anthony of Padua and the leadership of Cardinal Fabrizio Ruffo, the army went to successfully reconquer the Kingdom of Naples from the revolutionary Neapolitan Republic and restore Ferdinand IV of Bourbon to the Neapolitan Throne.
From its inception, the Sanfedisti were a Catholic counterrevolutionary movement, fighting against the Enlightenment and freemasonry, similar to the Catholic and Royal Armies of the Vendée and Brittany in France. While the movement eventually died out after the Italian Unification, its ideals and principles are still alive today in the hearts of many Italians and Catholics worldwide.
